Honda NT650V Deauville CDI Wiring…

This info might be useful to some owners who have no CDI connector block on their wire harness…..

Note: The letters CDI stand for capacity discharge ignitor, the CDI is also known as an ICM (ignition control module) or an Ignitor.

The pictures and info in below should show where the different coloured wires connect to the CDI unit on a Honda 650 Deauville.

The info and pictures are from a 2002 NT650V Deauville (V2 model) and are the same on the 2000 (VX model) Deauville.
Other years may be different!

2002 Honda NT650V Deauville (V2) and the CDI (part no: 30410-MBL-D01)

There’s 1 connector block that attaches to the CDI, the bloc is 11 pins wide and 2 rows deep. Alot of the pins holes are blanked off and not used.

Location of the Honda 650 Deauville CDI / ignitor unit

The CDI is accessed by removing the seat, it is located under the seat at the back of the bike, just behind the rear light. The CDI is held in place by 2 plastic clips (1 on each side).

Note: If you are doing any electrical work on the bike (or any bike), we would recommend disconnecting the battery before starting work as this helps avoid any short circuits.

Note: The Honda Deauville VX, V2 and other models had a Honda security system fitted as standard (known as the Honda HISS system on the V2 and later models), some of the wiring to the CDI probably controls parts of the security system and the keys were matched (coded) to the CDI, which is worth noting if your looking to modify the CDI wires!
